EPASS Pay transaction error: On file account is in Purged Status

When processing a transaction using EPASS Pay, the following error appears:

 


This on‑file account is currently in Purged status and cannot be used for payment.

Account: Visa – xxxx
Exp. Date (mmyy): yyyy
Status: Purged


An account in Purged status generally means it has been permanently closed and removed from the active system due to an extended period of inactivity, often with a zero balance. This is typically a final step taken by financial institutions or service providers after an account has been dormant for a long period (e.g., 120 days to a year or more).

The customer should reach out to their financial institution and see if they can have the account reactivated but likely a new method of payment will be required.
