When reserving an invoice, the end user receives the following message:
You cannot Reserve, your Scheduled/Pickup Date is too far out[OK]
In the article, we will explain the reason this is happening.
If we look at the invoice, the type is BLDR and the scheduled date is September 30, 2025.
To find the setting that is causing this error, go to: Tools > System Maintenance > Tables > Invoice Type > Settings 3. Choose "BLDR" because that's the invoice type we're looking at. If the invoice type was different, you would choose that instead.
You will see "Max Days Out to Reserve."
For this Invoice Type, the system says you can't reserve a serial number until it's 30 days or less before the scheduled date. For example, if the scheduled date is September 30th, you can't reserve a serial number until September 1st.
If you see this message, check the Invoice Type settings to understand the rules for reserving a serial number.
