How to Create Bin Labels for Bins and Locations

When adding product to your bins and locations, it can be helpful to label them with a barcode so that they can be scanned instead of manually adding the bin or location on the scanner.

Note: the following steps must be followed on a workstation with EPASS installed. Otherwise the barcode font will not be available.

  1. Verify that the Bin or Location exists in EPASS. Open System Maintenance > Bin or Location table. Note the description exactly (including spaces).
  2. Open Wordpad in Windows (type “wordpad” into the Windows search bar).
  3. In Wordpad, type the description from step 1 between two asterisks. For example, if the description was “Box X”, you would type the following into Wordpad:
  4. Highlight the text you just typed and click the dropdown to change the font. Choose one of the Carolina barcode fonts.
  5. The description will now change to a barcode. You can click File > Print to print the barcode and attached it to your bin or location for easy scanning.
